Why we’re here

Luminopia is pioneering a new class of treatments for neuro-visual disorders. We’re starting with amblyopia, a condition where deficiencies in the brain result in uncorrectable vision deficits. Although amblyopia is the most common cause of vision loss in children, current treatment options are highly frustrating for patients and ineffective in many cases. To address this unmet need, we created Luminopia One -- a digital therapeutic that allows patients to watch TV as treatment. We are excited about the potential to bring a new therapy option to millions of children, and to adapt our unique approach to develop treatments for other debilitating conditions.

Hank Wu

COO

Hank is fascinated by intelligence, human and artificial, and how to bring more of it to healthcare. He views books as software for the mind, people as biological computers, and 42 as the answer to life. You can most often find Hank in his natural habitat outdoors, cycling in the city or nerding over the latest public health data.

Endri Angjeli

VP of Clinical Development

Endri has a curiosity about how things work. He has dedicated his career to understanding how technology can be applied to assess and assist the human body. This curiosity extends beyond the workplace, where he learns about the natural world through beeping, fishing, urban farming and raising his little daughter. There is always something interesting happening around every tree, under every rock, and between any two sets of ears.
